Westerville Education Foundation, Starry Night - Sunday, April 23rd
Sunday, April 23rd, from 2-6pm, bring your family to the 5th annual Starry Night learning festival, sponsored by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Westerville Partners for Education, at Westerville North High School. The festival will offer experiences with experts from Columbus’ premier educational, business, and community organizations. Geared toward students in preschool through 8th grade and their caregivers and families, the event highlights the connection between all the arts and science—with the theme, “Art and Science – Fueling Imagination”.
See how crafts transformed from art to engineering & Science, how things work, and learn to work with tools. Westerville Partners for Education organizes this event as an annual opportunity for families to learn together and to develop relationships with community organizations. Starry Night allows us to go out and find the most fascinating educational organizations in the Columbus area and put them in a room with kids and families.

Feedback Sought for Westerville 2018-2019 Calendar
The Board of Education is seeking feedback from Westerville City School District families as it pertains to the 2018-2019 calendar. A link to the calendar and feedback form is available online at www.wcsoh.org.
This proposed calendar has been developed based upon community and staff feedback on previous calendars. The Board is anticipated to hold its second reading on this calendar during its May 22, 2017, regular meeting to meet the state requirement of a 30-day window between a public hearing of the proposed calendar and its final approval.
Key points to the proposed calendar include:
- The calendar again begins the school year during the third week of August.
- The second semester ends the week prior to the Memorial Day holiday.
- The calendar has spring break scheduled during the last week of March. This calendar exceeds the minimum number of school year hours required by the state and includes time to address calamity days or other unforeseen events that may impact the days that school is in session.
