If your child is diagnosed with an illness by a doctor, please let the attendance clerk know what the diagnosis is when calling your child’s absence in. Thank you for your help! Fouse Health Clinic - Clothing Donations The school clinic has a great need for gently used clothing. If you have any unwanted clothing, please consider donating it to the clinic. Items in the greatest need include the following:
PTO General Meeting - Wednesday, 2/8 Our next PTO meeting will take place Tuesday, February 13th, at 7:00pm, in the Media Center. All parents are invited to attend! Mr. Stranges will be taking some time to discuss the following topics:

A Box Tops contest flier and a labeled sandwich baggie was sent home with all students to help easily collect and submit the Box Tops you've been saving. The grade who collects the most Box Tops will receive a fun surprise, compliments of the PTO! The contest runs now through end of day,Friday, 2/23. Please review the contest flier for all details; a copy of the flier is attached for your reference. Student Council Spirit Day - Friday, 2/9 This Friday, 2/9, is Spirit Day and the theme is Valentine theme! Student Council encourages all students to join in the fun and wear some bright, fun, Valentine attire that day! Valentine's Classroom Parties - Friday, 2/9 The Lead Room Parents in each classroom are starting to plan your students' Valentine's Classroom Parties, which are scheduled for Friday, 2/9, at 2:30pm (10:30am for AM K classes). The Valentine's party will have one unified community service project. Each class will get one big card from the PTO which will be distributed to local police and fire departments. The theme for the card will be 'Thanks for Being the Heart of Our City'. The kids can sign their name and any message they would like to write on the card for our city heroes. The card should be dropped off in the Fouse Office after the party and will be distributed accordingly by the PTO. Fouse wants to let our firefighters and police officers how much we care and appreciate them keeping us safe. Please keep an eye out for communication from your Lead Room Parents regarding what they have planned for the party and any assistance they may need. If you would like to volunteer and/or attend during the party, the Lead Room Parents will be gathering a list of attendees so that they can let the office know who to expect that day. We appreciate your support and partnership to help ensure our Valentine's Parties are a memorable event for all students! Fouse Variety Show - Friday, 2/16 We are excited to see all of our talented performers on Friday, 2/16 at our Fouse Variety Show! The event starts at 7pm at Westerville Central High School; all performers are asked to arrive by 6pm. Student Council will also be hosting a bake sale during the show and all Creativity Showcase entries will be on display as well. Hope to see you all there! GEM Award Nominations - Due Friday, 2/9 The Great Educator Mentor (GEM) Awards Program is a collaboration between Westerville Parent Council and Roush Honda of Westerville. It was created in 2002 to recognize those in our community who go above and beyond and make a difference in the lives of our students. Each year, one adult from each building, as well as several district recipients, will be honored with this prestigious award. The 2017-2018 nomination process has now begun. Please refer to the attached flier for details regarding this program. The GEM nomination form is also attached, and copies of the nomination form are also available for pick-up in the office or can be found at the WPC website http://westervilleparentcouncil.com/gem-awards-2/. Nominations will be accepted only through Friday, February 9th. Completed nomination forms may be submitted to the Fouse office. Thank you for taking the time to recognize a staff member, parent and/or community member that you feel has gone above and beyond for our Fouse students! Second Annual Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance - February 12 The Westerville Central Track and Field boosters will host its second annual Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance at Westerville Central High School on Monday evening, February 12, from 7:00 to 8:45 p.m. The dance is open to grades K-5. Music, refreshments, door prizes and a raffle to win an American Girl doll are all part of the evening. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/4161. Pop Tabs Quarterly Contest - Sponsored by Student Council Each quarter, Student Council will be hosting a contest to see which classroom can collect the most Pop Tabs. A new contest is starting for the 3rd quarter so if you have any aluminum Pop Tabs from cans, we encourage you to send them in with your student & place them in the collection container in their classroom from now until March 7th. The winning class will win a sweet treat! The Pop Tabs are donated to The Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio, which uses them to raise thousands of dollars for their program every year. Reminder: Bundle Up for Outdoor Recess! Now that the cold winter weather has officially arrived, we would just like to remind all parents to ensure that your children are dressed appropriately for recess each day. Outdoor recess will take place daily unless the windchill is 20 degrees or below! Heavy coats, hats, gloves, mittens, etc. will ensure that students are warm and comfortable outside during the winter months. It is also a very good idea to write your child's name in their outdoor gear as well.
