The newly developed enrichment activities span all academic areas – math, reading, history, social studies, and geography. This event allows both parents and students (3rd, 4th, and 5th grades) an opportunity to explore these great enrichment activities. This is a unique activity that is only at Fouse – and a great example of our ongoing community partnership with Otterbein! Come out and experience these activities first hand! Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8 Here are our daily themes for Teacher Appreciation Week if you choose to join in! Just bring in these items to your teacher(s) for whichever day you choose to participate. These items do not need to be expensive and participation is optional!
Monday, May 4 is also Bus Driver Appreciation Day! - Show your thanks by giving your bus driver a small treat or note of thanks! End of Year Activities As we wrap up the final semester of the school year, we have some exciting activities planned for students! Watch your Friday folders for additional information and volunteer opportunities… April 30 - Columbus Children's Theater, School-wide 2PM May 20 – Supergames, School-wide Upcoming Events for 5th Grade Parents Student Celebration Posters: Each year, the fifth grade parents make a poster of their child, send it into school and a few volunteers go in early on the last day of school to place them in the ground around the front of the school. We would like to do this again this year and want to ensure that each child has a poster. A few guidelines to follow:
5th Grade Concert: The annual 5th Grade Concert will be held On Thursday, May 14 at 7:00pm in the Fouse gymnasium. Our 5th graders have been working hard all year to prepare for this performance. Attendance is optional, but highly encouraged. Student participants should arrive by 6:45 to warm up and prepare. We can’t wait to see what they’ve prepared for us! Any questions should be directed to Mrs. Stout [email protected]. 5th Grade Pool Party: Each year the Fouse PTO hosts an end-of-year pool party for our departing 5th graders. The event will be during the school day on Friday, May 15, at the Watering Hole (at the Westerville Community Center). Check your child’s folder for additional information. Safety City Registration opens April 20 Beginning on April 20, parents of children who will be attending kindergarten this fall can register their youngsters for Westerville Safety City. The program will be held Monday through Friday, June 1-12, at Robert Frost Elementary School, which is located at 270 North Spring Road. Two sessions will take place each day – one in the morning from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and one in the afternoon from 12:30-2:30 p.m.. Educational topics will include fire safety, bicycle safety, stranger awareness, water safety, and other personal safety issues. Teachers and their teen helpers will educate 360 students during this two-week program.
