All students received a Box Tops contest flier and a labeled sandwich baggie to help easily collect and submit the Box Tops you've been saving. The class in each grade who collects the most Box Tops will receive a fun surprise, compliments of the PTO! The contest runs now through end of day, Wednesday, 2/24. GEM Awards Nominees Announced Sponsored by Roush Honda and Westerville Parent Council, the annual GEM Award honors community members, volunteers, teachers and staff who consistently go above and beyond for students in Westerville schools. GEM stands for “Great Educator Mentors”. The winners will be announced publicly on March 11. Not just for parents and caregivers of students with ADHD - homework challenges and understanding Executive Function skills are important topics for ALL families to understand in order to provide positive support at home. This is a free event that is open to everyone in our community. Visitors can learn about the many summer camp and activity options in the Westerville/Columbus area for children. There will be representatives on site that offer programs for preschool and elementary-aged children, as well as middle and high school students and many will offer on-the-spot registration. Teachers chosen to receive this honor will be featured in a full-page advertisement in the ThisWeek Westerville News & Public Opinion. Following a thorough and thoughtful review of nominees, three recipients -- one from the elementary, middle and high school levels -- will be selected each month.
