Hello, Fouse Parents! We hope you're having a nice weekend! The update below contains information about upcoming events at Fouse, the weekly rotation schedule and other general tips and reminders to help you more easily navigate the school year! Here is this week's update: Schedule For The Week 10/2 (Mon)......B Day 10/3 (Tues).....C Day 10/4 (Wed)......D Day, PTO General Meeting, 7pm in Fouse Media Center 10/5 (Thurs).....E Day 10/6 (Fri)..........F Day Classroom Parties - Communication, Planning & Community Service...Spread the Sunshine! This past Friday, September 29th, a letter with details about this year's Classroom Parties will be sent home in your child's backpack. If you have not already heard from them, the lead room parents for your class will be in contact with parents soon to get the planning started for our first party of the year, the Fall Harvest Party, which is on Friday, October 13th. A generic copy of the letter that was sent home is also attached to this email for your reference. As mentioned last week, during each Classroom Party, we would like not only for our students to have a fun, memorable time celebrating a special time of year, but we would also like to include an element of community service and giving. For the Fall Harvest Party, the PTO is partnering with the Fouse Staff Service Leaders Committee for a project called "Spread the Sunshine". As a school, we will be donating spare change to help with the hurricane relief effort in Florida. We will be helping Lee Elementary School in Tampa during a very challenging time. The school is a world studies and technology magnet school that was devastated by a fire after Hurricane Irma hit. This left the staff and students in need of the very basics to learn and teach. Our plan to "Spread the Sunshine" will begin this coming week. Students are asked to drop off monetary donations in their classroom. As we mentioned, donations of any size are appreciated - even spare change will do; no amount is too small as long as it is given from the heart. During the Fall Party, each classroom will have a card-making station during the party, so that our students have the opportunity to make a card and/or write a letter of encouragement to students at the school we will be supporting. The collection will conclude after the party, at the end of the day on Friday, 10/13. A copy of the "Spread the Sunshine" flier that was sent home on Friday, 9/29, is attached for your reference. On behalf of the Staff Service Leaders/Hurricane Relief Committee, thank you for helping Lee Elementary feel the warmth of the sunshine spread from Fouse to Florida! PTO General Meeting, October 4th - Mrs. Schone Speaking The month's PTO meeting is this Wednesday, October 4th, at 7:00pm, in the Media Center. We are excited to announce that Mrs. Schone, our school's Guidance Counselor, will be our guest speaker for the evening. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to learn more about the important role that Mrs. Schone has in our building. She will be sharing information regarding the different topics she speaks to students about, how she is available to support all students and their parents and there will be a chance to ask questions as well. All parents are encouraged to attend! We look forward to seeing you then! Future PTO meeting dates are: November 1, February 7, April 4. Pancake Breakfast - Drawing Contest Entries Due 10/6 Attention, Fouse Foxes…let’s see your artwork! Last week, students were sent home with an entry flier for our Pancake Breakfast Drawing Contest! Students are encouraged to draw a picture that they think best represents Fouse’s Pancake Breakfast and/or the Fall season. Entries are due this Friday, October 6th and the winner of the contest will be announced on Wednesday, October 11th. The winning drawing(s) will be featured on this year’s Pancake Breakfast flier. A copy of the contest entry flier is attached for your reference. Fall Book Fair - Volunteers Needed Our Fall Book Fair is quickly approaching and it's time to start gathering volunteers! The Book Fair will take place Monday, October 23rd through Thursday, October 26th, during the week of conferences. The operation and success of our Book Fair is totally dependent on volunteer participation. The Fall Box Tops Contest flier and collection baggie was sent home with students on Friday, 9/29. It's time to start gathering the Box Tops you've been collecting all summer! The grade that collects the most Box Tops will win a fun prize! The contest runs through Thursday, October 19th. A copy of the flier that was sent home is attached. Thanks in advance for your participation! Student Directory - Opt Out Fouse PTO compiles a Student Directory each year, which lists student names by classroom, student contact information and teacher contact information. All of the information provided in the directory is for the sole use of Fouse parents and staff and is not used for marketing or solicitation purposes. The Directory will not be published online; only hard copies will be available for pick-up by parents in the office later this month. If you do NOT wish to have your contact information shared with other Fouse families in the Directory, please complete the attached "Opt Out" form and return it to the office by end of day, Friday, 10/13. Fouse Spirit Wear - Get Yours Today! Thanks to everyone who purchased Spirit Wear recently at Back to School Day, Open House and the Fouse Family Picnic!
